The International Day of Democracy

On September 15th of each year, the world celebrates the International Day of Democracy, affirming that democracy is not merely a system of government but a human value founded on freedom, participation, equality, and respect for human rights. Democracy empowers people to express their opinions, make decisions that affect their present and future, and fosters a culture of dialogue and diversity. On this occasion, we affirm that strengthening democracy in Iraq is a shared responsibility that requires the awareness and active participation of all parts of society for a more stable and prosperous Iraq. This calls for the effective participation of everyone to build nations where justice, stability, and peace prevail.
