The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Baghdad organises discussion panels for fifth-year students weekly, featuring presentations and analyses of a range of clinical cases encountered by students during their clinical sessions throughout the week. These sessions cover surgery, obstetrics, internal medicine, and poultry diseases, all within the framework of enhancing clinical skills and critical thinking among students.
The topics of the discussion panel including, over granulation tissue in horses, foot & mouth disease, bronchopneumonia in sheep and equine babesiosis.
The session witnessed the participation of a number of students, where diverse clinical cases were presented, with a focus on diagnostic mechanisms, treatment strategies, and the latest approved medical recommendations. Students actively engaged in scientific discussions about differential diagnoses and evidence-based treatment options.
It was emphasised the importance of these activities in developing students’ skills and enhancing their ability to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing them for their future roles in the veterinary medical field.
At the end of the session, a discussion forum was opened for questions and inquiries, providing an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and ideas between students and college staff in a distinguished academic atmosphere that reflects the college’s commitment to providing high-quality medical education.
